I only spend a few months a year in Spain. Is it worth learning?
Absolutely! Many of my students are in the same situation. Even a few months of lessons can dramatically improve your confidence and experience in Spain. Plus, lessons are flexible - you can continue when you're in Spain or the UK.
I've tried apps before and got nowhere. How is this different?
Apps teach generic tourist Spanish. I focus specifically on what property owners need - dealing with tradespeople, bureaucracy, and integrating into your community. It's practical, conversational, and immediately useful.
What will I need for my lessons?
You'll need a computer or device with internet access.
I provide all the learning materials.
Do I have to be on camera?
Not if you don't want to be! I think it helps us connect, but, if you feel more comfortable without a camera, thats totally fine.
How long is each lesson?
Each session typically lasts 60 minutes, though I offer longer sessions upon request.
What are your qualifcations?
I was Head of the Modern Foreign Languages department at multiple schools. I have worked in high achieving schools in the UK, Europe and Asia for over 10 years.
What if my Spanish property is in a specific region with a strong accent?
I understand regional differences well - I lived in Colombia myself! Whether you're in Andalucía with its distinctive accent, Catalonia, Valencia, or anywhere with local quirks, I can help you understand regional accents and vocabulary. I'll prepare you for how people actually speak in your area.
How much do Spanish lessons cost?
Prices are different for private, group and business lessons. Please refer to my pricing page for detailed information.
Am I too old to learn a language?
Not at all! I specialise in teaching adults 50+ and have seen countless students in their 50s, 60s, and 70s achieve their Spanish goals. The key is having time and motivation - which you have now. Age is not a barrier.
How quickly will I progress?
Everyone learns at their own pace, and that's perfectly fine. Most students feel noticeably more confident within 3-6 months of regular lessons. You'll start having basic conversations within weeks. The key is consistency and enjoying the journey!
